Fresh Flowers Everyday
Not all of us like to keep fresh flowers in the house because fresh flowers don’t last long. Here, I would like to share some tips on how to maintain longer lasting fresh flowers which I have been practicing for quite sometimes now.
Change the water in the vase daily. Make sure the vase is clean before refilling it with water. Remove any dropping leaves or petals from inside the vase as any left over debris can cause growth of bacteria in the water.
Cut the stem ends of the flower each time the water is change as this will allow better water intake by removing any blockage cause by bacteria growth and debris. The stem ends should be cut at an angle (slanting) to expose a wider area to the water. This also prevents the stem end from sitting flatly at the bottom of the vase thus blocking water intake.
To revive fresh flowers, put some sugar or lemon drops into the water. This provides food for the flowers but be careful not to use too much as this will also attract ants.

Oh…thats a good tip to try. I’d normally just change the water without pruning the stem. Nah ni kali buli cuba laini…
Chegu, tu Shemah just came with another tip using vinegar maybe substitute for the lemon, and coins… let us try sama-sama…

Kotobian Tadau Kaamatan to you and your family. Hope you had a great weekend!
My mom taught us how to prune the stems since we were small.. a mixture of vinegar and water can also make fresh flowers stay longer! Not too much vinegar.. OR if you have copper coins.. macam duit 1 sen tu.. it’ll help too! Don’t ask me how come, I just read it in Reader’s Digest! LOL!
Thank you Shemah, best juga blogging ni we can share tips kan.. Of course i will not ask but instead, i’ll pretend it as a “wishing well” and go syirik a bit.. i’ll ask for my flower to stay fresh forever.. (kidding)
