Flip n Cook

Coming home to prepare a hot meal is no longer a Herculean task for busy moms.  With the help from this “Flip n Cook Pan”, suddenly you’ll see it doesn’t need an hour to prepare a good meal.  This is what I told my sister being a working mom herself with 2 school-going children, also being her first year staying away from her stay-home mother in-law who took care of their meals, ready on the table.  I know it will be a burden until she could finally adjust herself and cope.

I’ve been using this flip n cook pan over the years yet she never even cared to glance at it (chisss!!!), until today, with a helpful intention I demonstrated it to her.  It cost me RM15 to get this sotong (cuttlefish) as part of the demo… eeiiih, ruginya!!!  But not really, it’s going to be our lunch today, “Kampong Yet Modern Style Smoked Cuttlefish”,… try lah, memang sedap..

Clean, cut sotong and drain-out liquid for few minutes before adding pounded garlic, tamarind, salt and aji-no-moto.  Pour 3 tbsp or more cooking oil onto the pan and arrange cut sotong as illustrated.

Place flip n cook pan over burning gas cooker for about 1 minute before turning the pan over the other side.  I don’t usually do this; I turned the sotong instead.  Normally it took me about 3 – 4  minutes to cook the sotong. Magic! Isn’t it?

There it goes.. lunch is ready!

Maybe I’ll come back again with other dishes cook with my magic pan… till then.

Home Sweet Home

This is my home in the estate where I work and spent most. I called this home my sanctuary, the one place where I can relax and be myself.  It is a sheer escapade and a cozy haven from stress of a modern life.  It’s comfortable, peaceful and pleasant to live in.  Pleasure that is equal to the pleasure of coming home from a long journey, even coming home from work is pleasant.

How much I love the comforts of this place I called home.  I have another house in town which I bought a few years ago but then the environment there is nothing like my home in the estate.  One may ask, “Why bought a house in town instead, when you don’t find comfy in it?”  Because the town is my hometown whereas the estate is just a working place for me and is not mine.

I have a small flower garden in the north east of my house.  My house is facing north-west; people who pass my house won’t be able to see my flower garden except for some bougainvilleas planted in front of my house.  I don’t mean to avoid people sighting my flower garden, it just that many plants appreciate the less fierce rays of the sun.  Beside that I can spend my free time, mostly afternoon in the garden without worrying too much of getting sunburn.

Another new meaning added to coming home, and it’s more than just to our loved ones but a comfy home as well.
