Barbie Doll vs Baby Corn

The price for a pack of Barbie Doll consists of 1 doll, 3 handbags, 3 pairs of clothing and 3 pairs of shoe is equivalent to the price of 50 kg rice.  “Boleh beli 5 kampit beras”, I’m sure my mother would say that, if I mention this to her.

Watching the young girls in my family playing with the costly Barbie dolls, made me want to recall back the old days how my sister and I owned our dolls.  Mother made them using pieces of cut linen; just a simple doll with round head and hands stretches side-wards.  I just made one here, exactly like the one mother made before, except for the color being white not yellow.

“BABY CORNS” were our seasonal dolls with hair color resembled the Barbie Dolls.  We had them only when our father’s corn field started bearing fruits.  English name were given to them as the influences of the westerns were quite strong those days; the movies we watched, the books and magazines we read were in English. “Blondie, Brunette and Brownie”, those were the names given to each of them accordingly to the color of their hair.

Today, I don’t see young girls plucked them to play with; only mothers do but for other reason, cooked them.

One of the reasons that caused our cost of living very high is pampering our children with expensive toys… hmm  what to do.

Beautiful Sunday

I have decided to stay home this Sunday and had my shopping done yesterday; fuel and groceries for one week requirement. It was already 7.30 a.m. when I woke up. Sunrays had peeped through my window and caused the room to feel warm, that I have to immediately flap-open the window panes for some breeze.

Out through the window, something caught my eye.   My Dahlia Plant bloomed…

I took this photo right from the window pane

The whether was fine and I decided to take my ‘Money Plant’ out for sun-bathing, coz’ it has been too long in the room without sunlight. I used to put it outside the verandah until I noticed someone had dug-out part of the plant. Not just once but a few times and this is what left. I feel like someone had stolen my money. lol…

What else… Some-one sent me a load of top soil couples of weeks ago which urged me to have my flower pots top-up.

The rest of the day I spent on watching TV, hoping for Stacy AF6 to appear on screen; anxious to know how she looks.   But how much I wished I have the facilities to go to my web blog … again I have to wait till Monday comes.
